They know I can't come back and force them to check the room again. They most likely do this to anyone who comes from far away. There documentation even shows that the house keeper stated 'guest took makeup mirror' If they just checked the room they like they said they would, they would know the house keeper was lying. Today they let me know the Hotel is still fighting the charge claiming they charged me the proper amount.
I ended up disputing a the $100 additional charge with my credit card company. It's been over a month and I still haven't heard back from them. After the 3rd call they assured me that a manager would call me back the next day. I called the front desk 3 time and every time they assured me they would check the room and call me back. I thought that was a little weird but since my guest and I are both men we figured we leave it in there since we would have no use for it. When we went to use the safe the mirror was in the closet. After check out I was charged $100 for 'taking a make-up mirror' !!! When we checked in there was no make up mirror visible in the room.
